General Services · Quotation Checkout

Price the job, not the shelf.

A Malawian tailor and a welder reviewing a quotation on a GeniYanga tablet in their workshop.

Tailors, welders, fabricators, tech builders — anyone who bills by the job. Build a price list where some things have a rate and some are quoted on the spot, draft the quote, and only turn it into a sale once the customer says yes. No till in the middle.

From price list to paid — the quote does the work.

FAQ

Questions service businesses ask before switching.

How quoting, converting, and getting paid over time actually work — answered straight.

I don't sell products — can I still use this?

Yes. Your 'products' are your services: labour priced per hour or per day, a fixed-price job, or a material you'll price later. There's no stock to count and no till to ring up — the sale comes from an accepted quotation, not a checkout.

How do I handle materials I can't price up front?

Add them to your catalogue at zero. Fabric, steel, a custom part — whatever you can't cost until you've sized the job — sits ready in your price list, and you type the real price into the quotation once you know it. Nothing is locked in until you send the quote.

Can I change prices for a specific customer or job?

Every line in a quotation is editable — rate, quantity, and description. Give a repeat client a better rate, load a rush job, or add a one-off line that isn't in your catalogue. Your saved price list is just the starting point, never a cage.

How does the customer accept a quote?

Send it as a link, over WhatsApp, or by email. They open it on their phone, read every line, and accept — no call, no trip to your workshop. You see it move from Sent to Accepted the moment they do.

What happens when a quote is accepted?

It converts straight into a sale — no re-typing. From there it behaves like any other sale: record a deposit, take more later, and let the outstanding balance follow the job until it's fully paid.

Can a customer pay in instalments?

Yes. Take a deposit to start, a payment mid-job, and the balance on delivery. Each payment is recorded against the sale and the running balance updates, so you always know who still owes what.

Is the final invoice MRA (EIS) compliant?

Yes. When you invoice against an accepted quote, GeniYanga generates an EIS-ready tax invoice with the QR code, fiscal signature, and line-item formatting the Malawi Revenue Authority requires.
