GeniYanga is operated by NxtGen Labs Limited in Lilongwe, Malawi. This page covers what we collect, why, and what your rights are. Plain English, not lawyer-speak.

What we collect

Account details you give us (name, business name, email, phone, MRA taxpayer ID), data you create inside the till (products, customers, sales, receipts), and standard technical signals (device type, browser, IP, crash logs).

Why we collect it

To run your till, keep it compliant with MRA EIS, recover your data if a device fails, fight fraud, and improve the product. We don't sell your data — not to advertisers, not to anyone.

Who sees it

Only the people who need to: our engineering team for support, MRA when EIS submission requires it, and the payment processor when you settle a bill. Each gets the minimum needed to do their job.

Where it lives

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with regular encrypted backups. GeniYanga's till works offline and syncs when a connection returns, so a copy may sit on your device until it reconciles.

How long we keep it

Active business records stay for as long as you have an account, plus the period required by Malawian tax law. Once you close your account and tax retention windows pass, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Ask us for a copy of your data, correct anything wrong, or delete your account at any time. We'll act on your request within a working week.

Cookies & analytics

We use minimal first-party cookies to keep you signed in and aggregated analytics (Vercel) to understand which pages get traffic. No third-party advertising trackers.

Changes

We'll flag material changes inside the till before they take effect. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
